About
Sifu Michael Keyes
Owner and Sifu
My name is Sifu Michael Keyes. My interest in martial arts began with my father, who was an amazing martial artist and person. His strength and knowledge inspired me to learn martial arts. I began my journey in 1979, in Kyokoshin Karate, at the age of 13. From there I went on to learn Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong for health and healing under various teachers. I also specialise in Iron Palm and Iron Body. This journey is about consistently growing in knowlege and experience, helping others become healthy and strong, and the longevity of the arts.
Instructor Hannah Toabe Keyes
Hi there! My name is Instructor Hannah Toabe Keyes. It was also my father who inspired me to learn martial arts! As a child I'd watch my father train Tai Kwon Do daily. As I got older I decided that I wanted to join in! I trained alongside my father until I had surgery at 12 years old. After finishing school and overcoming different health obstacles I decided that I wanted to start training martial arts again. I really enjoy learning, both physically and increasing in knowledge. For me this is about self-preservation, reaching my full potential, helping others do the same, and overcoming the various obstacles that would normally hold someone back. Through consistent hard work and time I became an instructor and work alongside my husband. I hope to be an inspiration to women who desire to be overcomers and to people of all ages who may feel weak but want to put the time in to become strong! With proper balance in your life, there are no limits to what you can accomplish.
